Willian: Linked with Liverpool and Tottenham this summer

The Brazilian playmaker is available despite only joining Anzhi Makhachkala in January as their owner Suleiman Kerimov scales back his financial commitment to the Russian club.

The Reds were thought to be in pole position to land the 25-year-old, with Sky Bet initially considering them favourites until a shift is betting patterns on Sunday evening.

With Gareth Bale still odds-on to join Real Madrid this summer, Spurs have been backed in from 16/1 to 10/11 in a matter of hours, with a move to Anfield now evens.

Anzhi are likely to expect to recoup a fee somewhere near the £30million they spent during the last transfer window, while Willian's wages are thought to be substantial.

Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer said: "We were pretty much only laying bets on Liverpool after it became apparent that Willian would be available, but that has certainly changed.

"The money has continued to come for Spurs at as short as odds-on with punters seemingly expecting significant funds to be available as they also backed Bale to join Real Madrid at short odds."

Odds subject to change.

worry about these types of conclusions on a teams brilliance when it was very clear that Argentina had 4 chances where they really should have scored and on chances alone then it would have been the more pragmatic Argentinians who would be the best in the world. I like the Germany team but this just shows that even with planning it relies on a great deal of luck and finding your opponents at just the right time.

e all know the British public don't have the patience to plan for 14 years. No chance. As soon as our young players don't win the world cup they get harrassed and abused to the point of mental breakdown. No, England likes to react to failure by sacking the manager and tearing up their best laid plans in favour of something shiny and new to keep the knee jerkers happy.
