Luis Suarez: Has had to watch from the stands this season

The Reds striker is in the squad for Wednesday's Capital One Cup third-round tie at Manchester United after completing a 10-game suspension for his attack on Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic in April.

Rodgers will finalise his team in the next 24 hours and, although his choice of words may have been ill-judged, the manager made it clear in his pre-match press briefing how much Suarez's return means to the player and his club.

"It has been a really difficult time for him not playing games," Rodgers said.

"How he has prepared himself over the last number of weeks has been fantastic. He's really champing at the bit to help the team.

"Everyone knows the depth of his quality and his attitude. Once he gets back on the field again, he will show what he has shown since he's been here."

The Ivanovic incident landed Suarez a suspension longer than the one he received for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra during a game in October 2011.

And the Uruguay international spent much of this summer attempting to engineer a move away from Anfield.

Asked whether Suarez had learned any lessons from his latest ban, a smiling Rodgers said: "We will see, we will see.

"The great thing about this football club is no matter what a player has done - or supposedly said - the supporters are 150% behind every player that pulls on that shirt and they back them to the hilt.

"I am sure that is something we will see and aligned to that will be his commitment, and that will be nothing more than I would expect.

"I have no doubt, having been out, he will be even hungrier but his commitment and fight for the cause will still be the same."

Rodgers: Sterling can be striker

I

expect Pulis to have a nice Christmas dinner with his family- probably all sitting around the table wearing Christmas themed baseball caps, before he gets the call. Realistically he could end up at any number of clubs, it'll be interesting to see which club folds first.

For Foxes' Sake, Call The Pulis...

A

s a Liverpool fan, I personally hate Palace. My pick would probably be Arsenal, which is funny because it seems the vast majority of their own fans don't even like them right now.
