Wilshere wary of SAS threat

Jack Wilshere is wary of the threat his international team-mate Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez will pose at The Emirates on Saturday evening.

Wilshere's Arsenal take on Liverpool live on Saturday Night Football and the England midfielder admits it will be the toughest game of the season so far for the Premier League leaders.

"They (Sturridge and Suarez) have been great this season ," Wilshere told Weekend Warm-Up on Sky Sports News. "Sturridge has been great for England as well. The two of them link up really well and we have to be ready for that. We'll watch a few clips of them - but our defence has been great this season.

"It'll be a big game tomorrow - probably our biggest test in the Premier League this season and we have to make sure - especially as we're at home - that we take the game to them."

Suarez was a transfer target for Arsenal in the summer and Wilshere acknowledged that he was keen to see the Uruguayan join the Gunners - but also paid tribute to team-mate Olivier Giroud, who has emerged as Arsenal's main goal threat this season.

"(Suarez) is a great player and if I said we didn't want him I'd be lying. But Liverpool did well to keep him in the summer and he's been their best player this season.

"But you have to give some credit to (Olivier) Giroud - it's been hard when there's speculation surrounding someone like Suarez and he's showed great character. He's been like a new player for us - he scored goals, got assists - like my goal at Norwich. Without him that wouldn't have happened."

Although Arsenal missed out on Suarez, they did manage to sign Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid and Wilshere already rates the German midfielder among the best he has played with.

"He's probably the most talented player I've ever played with," he added. "He's so natural in the way he plays and he can see a pass, he's really clever.

"He's great to have in the team and sometimes that does make a difference in the Premier League - to have that one player who can do something to win a game."

Arsenal v Liverpool is live on Saturday Night Football, Sky Sports 1HD from 5pm

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
