A fairly routine win for Liverpool over Hull to start the new year. Agger got proceeding underway with a header, before Suarez added a second with yet another stunning free-kick. Liverpool 2-0 Hull City.Coutinho with a magical run into the box and forces an equally great save from McGregor from close range.Hull passing the ball around the Liverpool box.Hull with some late pressure.Another good move from Liverpool, but Toure is unable to keep Moses' return ball in play.Coutinho dribbles into the box, but Davies sees him out for a goal kick.Suarez takes the free-kick, but this time it goes very high over the cross bar.Davies goes into the book for a foul on Suarez, who was just about to go clear on goal.Hull have the ball again.A good move from Liverpool ends with a Coutinho ball across the box, but Hull clear their lines.Figueroa with a wayward shot of his own, also for a Liverpool throw.Cissokho with a good block to prevent a Fryatt cross. Hull corner, which Liverpool get clear.Suarez with a very, very wide shot. This time he gets it on target, but McGregor does well to steer it away from goal.Sterling pounces on a miss pass at the back, but his ball forward is wide of the mark.Hull win the ball back as Toure tries to charge forward.Liverpool working the ball forward from defence. Aspas slides the ball to Henderson, who just slices his low effort wide of goal.Hull are now the team struggling to combine well up front, loads of passes going astray.Sagbo penalised for a foul on Agger just as he was about to head through on goal.Liverpool have a throw.Suarez goes into the referee's book for two fouls in the midfield.The referee just having a word with Meyler and Suarez. The Uruguayan still aggrieved at that challenge prior to the goal.GOAL! And the Reds are ahead as Agger heads Coutinho's corner at goal to make it 1-0 to Liverpool.Liverpool win a corner and Meyler gets a talking to for a very heavy challenge on Suarez.Cissokho with a header at the far post from a Henderson cross, but McGregor gets to it first to gather easily.A missed clearance from Davies nearly lets Liverpool in on goal, but the defender manages to get to the ball before Aspas and clears his lines.Not going well for the Liverpool's forwards so far, total miscommunication there as Suarez tries to put Aspas through on goal.Hull with a spell of possession in midfield now.Coutinho gets the ball on the edge of the area, but Meyler makes the tackle just as the Brazilian is about to get his shot away.Johnson wins a corner as he tried to put the ball into the box to Sterling.Liverpool playing the ball around in the midfield area.Johnson puts a cross into the box and Sterling attempts to take it on his chest, but his touch takes the ball away from him and McGregor gathers easily.Liverpool are growing into the game now and creating some more chances.Raheem Sterling goes through on goal, and gets his shot away, but McGregor manages to get it away.Some weird decisions being made in the Liverpool midfield at the moment.Coutinho with another shot on goal after Suarez is brought down, the Brazilian's shot is again wayward.Coutinho goes for goal straight from the free kick, but McGregor easily gathers the Brazilian's effort.Suarez does brilliantly to turn Bruce, who brings the Uruguayan down and goes into the referee's book.Meyler now gives away another foul at the other end as Johnson receives a pass from Mignolet.Coutinho take the free kick and Suarez gets the ball in the back of the net, but the assistant has his flagged raised for offside almost immediately.Liverpool work the ball into the box, but Hull get it away, only to be penalised for a handball.Liverpool attempt to take a free kick quickly, but the referee pulls it back after an offside against Hull.Suarez attempts to chip McGregor from the edge of the area, but his effort is wide of the mark.Liverpool with possession in midfield.Huddlestone barges into the back of Suarez, but the referee waves play on. Hull go on to have a shot on goal, but Koren's effort bobbles on into Mignolet's grasp.The Liverpool forwards are looking a bit disjointed today. Not creating many chances just yet.Sagbo with a shot over the bar from outside the box after some neat play.Meyler brings down Aspas just outside the centre circle.Hull with the ball just inside the opposition half.We have yet to have a meaningful effort on goal from either side.Not a lot of touches on the ball for the Reds front three thus far. Their possession has been mostly in midfield.Hull doing well to restrict Liverpool so far.Mignolet easily gathers Huddlestone's effort from the set play.Lucas gives away a free kick on Koren.Liverpool with the ball on the far side.Free kick to Liverpool for a foul on Cissokho.Hull pressing very high up the pitch early on.Referee Craig Pawson gets us underway...Jack Hammond: As a Massive Liverpool supporter, I expect Liverpool to win.
