Jordan Henderson: Hoping to make England's World Cup squad

The Liverpool midfielder was recalled to the squad for Wednesday's friendly with Denmark and Henderson won his eighth cap for his country in the 1-0 victory at Wembley.

The 23-year-old was happy with his showing against the Danes and is aiming to continue his fine recent form for Liverpool as he looks to book his place on the plane for the trip to Brazil.

Henderson has now played eight times for England and he also featured at Euro 2012.

"It's been a while, so it was nice to get a start under my belt," Henderson told the FA's website.

"It was brilliant to get back out there again for the senior team.

"I tried to do my best and hopefully I can do my best from now until the end of the season and get in the squad for the summer."
