Brendan Rodgers: Faces a testing start to the campaign

Brendan Rodgers' side face the Saints, who this week unveiled Ronald Koeman as their new boss, at Anfield on August 16th.

Reigning champions Manchester City then host the Reds in their following fixture on August 23rd, while a testing start to the season continues with a trip to Tottenham on August 30th.

The first Merseyside derby falls on September 27th, with Liverpool playing host to local rivals Everton.

During a hectic festive period, the Reds will travel to Manchester United on December 13th, while Arsenal head to Anfield on December 20th.

Boxing Day brings a match at Burnley before a home date with Leicester on New Year’s Day.

The return trip to Everton will be on February 7th, while Manchester United arrive on Merseyside on March 21st.

Rodgers will be hoping his side remain in the title hunt during the closing weeks, which see them start with a home match against QPR on May 2nd before a tough trip to Chelsea.

Crystal Palace, who ruined Liverpool’s hopes of the League crown last season, travel to Anfield in another penultimate game of the season and the Reds will finish with a game at Stoke.

Opening three games:
August 16 - Southampton (h)
August 23 - Manchester City (a)
August 30 - Tottenham (a)

think Liverpool should start trying alternative therapy now, given that Sturridge's hips and knees are apparently unfathomable to modern medicine. Voodoo, acupuncture, healing oils, rolling in the snow after a hot bath, its all got to be worth a go now.
