Theo Walcott: Doubts remain over where he will be playing next season

The England striker's deal expires in May 2013 and the Gunners are keen to tie their man down, particularly on the back of recent high-profile player departures such as Robin van Persie.

Some reports have suggested the 23-year-old has been punished for his reluctance to commit to the club he moved to from Southampton for £5m in 2006.

"We have discussions every day about his contract," said Wenger.

"We try to get further along but nothing else has happened."

In 14 appearances this season, the forward has come on as substitute but has still produced an impressive haul of eight goals.
