Ryo Miyaichi: Enjoying sharing the Arsenal dressing room with Mesut Ozil

The 20-year-old has been astounded by the German's impact at Emirates Stadium and intends to learn plenty from the North London club's latest arrival.

Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid on a five-year contract worth £42.5million and has been an instant success at the heart of the Gunners attack.

Miyaichi, who joined Arsenal in 2011 before spending three seasons on loan, admits sharing a dressing room with the attacking midfielder is a dream and expects to develop his own game alongside the Germany international.

"It's an amazing feeling to know we're team-mates," Japan international Miyaichi told the club's official website.

"Being from Japan, far from here, you think your only chance of seeing players like Ozil is on the television. Now, as a footballer, I have the chance to work with top-class players and that's a huge thing for me.

"With Ozil and all the fantastic players we already have, I know I can learn new things every day."

Miyaichi was only able to make four appearances for Wigan Athletic during his season-long loan last year due to injury, but insists his ankle problems are behind him as he pushes for first-team contention.

"In pre-season I had a little ankle problem and I had another injury after the Asia tour. But I'm getting there, so hopefully there'll be the opportunity to play more this season," he added.

"Last season was disappointing and of course you feel frustrated. I spent most of my time at Wigan in the treatment room, but the only thing to do is to come back stronger. Everyone gets injuries and you have to get over them."
