Mikel Arteta: Has no interest in leaving Arsenal, according to his agent.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer and Fiorentina are one of the clubs to have been credited with an interest.

However, there has never been any suggestion that Arteta is unhappy at the club and his agent has now made it clear that he has no plans to go elsewhere.

Inaki Ibanez has told Radio Blu Toscana that he has not been contacted by any club about the 32-year-old, who remains under contract with the Gunners until the summer of 2015.

Ibanez said: "I have never spoken with Fiorentina. Mikel has one year more on his contract and he has no desire to go away from Arsenal.

“He's fine there and he's also the team's captain. I have not spoken with any club.

“If he'd like to come to Fiorentina? No, we're talking about Arsenal's captain, with all due respect to Fiorentina, he is fine there and he does not want to leave."

He's got another season in him at prem level, apart from against the top sides. Can see Arsenal trying to squeeze a few million for him though if a DM signs, and using Flamini as reserve. Arteta is still our best penalty taker too

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
