Fernando Amorebieta: A target for a number of the Premier League's big boys

Amorebieta seems set to leave Bilbao at the end of the season with the club recently withdrawing their contract offer after failing to agree a new deal with the 27-year-old.

The news has alerted clubs all across Europe to Amorebieta's availability on a free transfer in the summer.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, AC Milan and Barcelona have all been credited with an interest in the past and they are all thought to be keeping tabs on his situation at San Mames.

Amorebieta has made over 250 appearances for Bilbao during his time at the club and he is regarded as one of the best central defenders in La Liga.

The Venezuela international caught the eye during Bilbao's march to the Europa League final last term, where they beat Manchester United en route to the showpiece, and he is bound to be one of the most sought-after Bosman signings in the summer when he sees out his contract.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
