Shane Duffy: Has found first team football hard to come by this season

The Republic of Ireland U21 skipper has made just three substitute appearances for the Toffees this season.

He remains part of David Moyes' long-term plans, but admits he cannot afford to wait too much longer for regular games.

Duffy feels he needs to get minutes under his belt if he is to improve, and concedes that he may have to look away from Goodison Park for them.

He is tied to a lengthy contract on Merseyside, but will consider whether he needs to break that agreement once the 2012/13 campaign comes to a close.

Duffy told the Liverpool Echo: "I've still got three years left on my Everton contract, but I need to be playing games.

"We'll see in the summer."
