The 1-0 weekend win over Fulham was their fifth clean sheet in seven matches and the possibility of a Europa League spot - for a fifth-placed finish - remains within reach.

"We have not been conceding many goals at all lately," said the England international.

"We've kept a few clean sheets on the bounce at Goodison and we probably could have got another couple of goals against Fulham.

"We didn't put them away but in the end we only needed the one but we created some chances.

"We have been playing well and there was good build-up to the goal and we had a couple of other moves which were similar which didn't quite have the finish."

Steven Pienaar scored the winner against the Cottagers, his seventh of the season, and Baines was happy to salute his team-mate's efforts.

"We rely on him so much and some players, if they are not seen to be carrying the team forward, then it can show because he is so important to us," he added.

"He has got a few goals this season so that shows he has added to his game and he is a massive plus for us being in the team."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
