Leighton Baines: Confident of beating Liverpool

Everton travel to Liverpool knowing victory would secure their place above their rivals, for a second season in succession.

"For the ambitions of the top players and also the manager, it is important we finish in Europe," Baines said.

"If we can get into Europe it may help us in the transfer market as it makes the club more appealing.

"The manager hasn't said anything about his own position but you'd have to think Europe is important to his ambitions.

"It is important if we can finish ahead of Liverpool in terms of the balance of power on Merseyside. To do it a couple of seasons running bears some significance."
