Preston look to keep winger

A host of clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation of Preston winger Will Hayhurst, Sky Sports understands.

Last Updated: 11/04/13 at 14:37 Post Comment

The 19-year-old has come through the youth ranks at Deepdale and has made a major impact this term, scoring four goals in his last nine games.

A number of Premier League and Championship clubs are understood to be monitoring his progress, with the likes of Wigan, Leicester, Bolton and Blackburn believed to be among those looking at him.

Hayhurst's current deal expires this summer, but Preston are believed to have an option and want to extend his stay at the club.

Steve Blatherwick of Elevate Sports, Hayhurst's representatives, said talks are ongoing with Preston but he refused to confirm any interest in the player.

"We are talking with Preston about Will, he is happy at the club and clearly is enjoying his football - which is the main thing," Blatherwick told Sky Sports.

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
