Alex Baptiste: Swapping Blackpool for Bolton

The 27-year-old, who can play at centre-back and right-back, was considering his options at the end of his Bloomfield Road contract but agreed a deal with Bolton despite reported interest from Premier League side Hull City.

Baptiste had the option of another year with Paul Ince's side, which would have been his sixth, but instead decided to test the waters as a free agent.

He came through the ranks at Mansfield Town, playing more than 170 games for his local club, before a move to Blackpool in the summer of 2008.

Baptiste cemented his place in their first team towards the end of his first season and was in their team that secured promotion to the Premier League, scoring in their 4-0 win over Wigan on the opening day of the 2010-11 campaign.
