Chris Eagles: Has left Bolton at the end of his contract

The former Manchester United winger has refused to be drawn on his grievances with the Championship club, but is disappointed to be leaving the Reebok Stadium under a cloud.

He says he will be forever grateful to the Bolton fans for the support they have given him over the last three years, but has accepted that he must now look to the future following his release at the end of his contract.

Eagles told The Bolton News: “Everyone knows what I feel for Bolton, I do love the club.

“No matter what has gone on, that hasn’t changed, even if I don’t play for them anymore.

“I have loved it at Bolton. What has happened, has happened.

“When my career is sorted I will have my say. Until then, I don’t want to go into detail.

“I love the fans, I love the club and I always will – I wouldn’t want anyone to doubt that.”

Eagles may end up facing Bolton in 2014/15, with the likes of Derby County and Cardiff City reported to be mulling over an approach for his services.

On his next career move, the 28-year-old added: “Things are moving on – it’s good on that front. But I can’t say anything at the moment.

“I am just concentrating on keeping fit so I am ready to step in soon.”
