Generally it always amazes me how footballers, coaches, commentators and pundits know so little about the rules of the game they make their living from. Referees are constantly criticised for decisions they got absolutely correct.

Someone should teach footballers the rules of football. If a body part you can score with is offside, you are offside. In other words, he could have both arms up to the shoulders past the last defender and be onside, anything else and you're off.

"my chest was offside but my feet weren't". I'm sorry but that is truly disgraceful that a professional footballer mouths off and doesn't even know the rule. I have done one referee's badge and can ref under 12s and I know the rule.... simply, your arms can be offside because they cannot touch the ball... any other part of your body is fair game and therefore offside. Sorry, but if he aint sanctioned by the FA he should be sanctioned by the club for being an idiot.

Erm, didn't he just explain why he was offside, rather than the opposite?
