Sean Morrison: Targeting a Premier League return with Reading

The 22-year old became a regular fixture in the Royals' defence following the arrival of Nigel Adkins in March, but he was unable to help them avoid the drop.

Morrison believes that Premier League experience has aided his progress as a player and he is desperate to return there with Reading.

"I've had a season in the Premier League and I want to stay there," he explained to The Reading Post.

"I want to play most of my career there. I don't want to keep dropping down, I want to cement myself in the Premier League with Reading and I want to do that next year by winning the Championship, and then go back to the Premier League.

"As a centre-half you need to be able to pass the ball and be comfortable on it. So under this manager it gives me a great opportunity to get better at my game by doing that.

"At any level, if you're playing regular first team games, you're going to improve the more you play."

Morrison spent Reading's title-winning season on-loan at Huddersfield, who he helped to League One promotion, a move which he says he has reaped the rewards of.

"When I was at Huddersfield Town on loan, if I look back when I first went there to now, the difference is massive," said the defender.

"Over the last 12 months I'd probably have to look back in detail at my game and look at games to see what I've done and where I've improved.

"But even in the last six weeks of the season, since the new manager came in, I think my game has improved massively in different areas, such as concentration and body position."
