Nigel Adkins' side, relegated from the Premier League last season, follow that up with a trip to the Reebok Stadium when they take on Bolton Wanderers a week later.

Five games in August also see trips to Blackpool and Yeovil, with a visit from Watford to the Madejski Stadium also pencilled in.

QPR, who also dropped out of the top flight with Reading, visit on 9 November and the third club to drop a division, Wigan, travel to the Berkshire club on 21 December.

The Christmas period sees Reading visit Leicester City on Boxing Day, with a longer trip to Middlesbrough three days later, while Nottingham Forest are the visitors on 1 January 2014.

The final game of Reading's season is at home to Burnley on 3 May.
