Nigel Adkins: Hopes signings are fit

Danny Williams, Royston Drenthye and Wayne Bridge all missed last weekend's 3-1 win at Derby after picking up knocks against Leeds three days earlier.

"With Danny it's a case of 'welcome to the Championship!' He got a good kick on the foot, same as Royston," said Adkins.

"(Leeds) was a competitive game and the quick turnaround wasn't sufficient to recover.

"I'm sure Bridgey will be fine for next week."

However, Reading are still waiting to determine the severity of Jem Karacan's knee injury after he was stretchered off against Leeds.

"We'll make sure we get the right diagnosis and then plan of attack," added Adkins. "He'll be out for a while but we'll look after him in a big way."
