Jake Taylor: Determined to make the grade at Reading

The Wales U21 international has spent much of his senior Royals career to date away from the Madejski Stadium.

Spells at Aldershot Town, Exeter City, Cheltenham Town and Crawley Town have provided valuable experience, but the 21-year-old midfielder believes he is now ready to kick on.

Nigel Adkins has handed him a Championship stage on which to perform this season, making his bow off the bench against Burnley on Saturday, and Taylor is determined to show that he is deserving of a regular role.

He told The Reading Post: "Whenever you get a chance you want to take it.

"I feel like I've been working hard so it was nice to get some minutes. It was not the result we were looking for but I'm pleased to have played.

"I want to play for this club, that's always what I've wanted to do.

"I've been here for a long time now and I want to play lots of games in the future. That's my aim, so hopefully I can achieve that."

He added: "I'll keep training hard, I'll try to improve every day and see what happens.

"Whatever the gaffer wants, I'm willing to do. As long as I'm learning and improving each day, then I'm happy. If I keep doing that then I'm sure I'll get more game time."
