Newport's date with Accrington on Saturday 3rd August is part of the Football League's 125th anniversary celebrations, with Rodney Parade the newest ground in the league.

The other game on the opening day which marks the Football League celebrations sees Rochdale host Hartlepool United in the 137th encounter between the two clubs, which is the most played Football League match between current League members.

Northampton Town missed out on promotion last season after losing in the play-off final and will head to York City on the opening day.

Cheltenham Town and Burton Albion were both beaten in the play-off semi-finals last season and they face each other at Whaddon Road.

Portsmouth are now in the bottom tier and will begin their bid to climb back up the divisions against Oxford United at Fratton Park.

Bury were also relegated from League One and are at home to Chesterfield, while Southend United are at home to Plymouth Argyle.

Torquay United and AFC Wimbledon both survived by the skin of their teeth last season and clash at Plainmoor, while Wycombe Wanderers are at home to Morecambe.

Exeter City and Bristol Rovers clash at St James Park, while Fleetwood Town are at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on the first day.
