Christian Eriksen: Tottenham were rumoured to have made an approach for the Ajax

The Ajax and Denmark star has also been linked with Barcelona and is in no rush to extend his current contract, which expires in 2014.

Andre Villas-Boas' Spurs were rumoured to have made an approach for Eriksen in the summer and could renew their interest at the end of this season.

And they have been given encouragement after 20-year-old Eriksen revealed he does not expect to stay in Holland for the remainder of his career.

Asked if he dreams of playing for Barcelona, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Who does not dream of Barcelona?

"But I believe that my future will be among Spain, England, Italy and Germany. I like all these championships and I'll see what chances I have."
