Gareth Bale: Heading to Real Madrid

The most protracted transfer saga of the summer has been inching ever closer to completion, in the past few days.

Neither Real Madrid nor Tottenham have officially commented on the transfer, but following their north London derby defeat at Arsenal - Villas-Boas revealed that Bale would indeed be moving to the Spanish capital.

"He is going to join Real Madrid, and so we wish him all the best," Villas-Boas revealed.

"He leaves us great memories from last season which every Tottenham fan cherishes, but he has moved on and we move on as well."

The deal, when it is confirmed, will be a world record deal breaking the previous record set by Real themselves when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
