Andre Villas-Boas: Tottenham boss admits Premier League is very open

The Portuguese coach has revamped his squad since Gareth Bale's world record move to Real Madrid and was boosted in the recent 2-0 victory over Aston Villa by a first league start for Sandro since the Brazil midfielder's serious knee injury in January.

Romania defender Vlad Chiriches was also handed a top-flight debut and the triumph at Villa Park ensured Spurs equalled their best start of 16 points from eight games matches for a Premier League season (set in 2009/10 and 2011/12).

Ahead of the league visit of Hull City to White Hart Lane on Sunday, Villas-Boas said: "The Premier League looks extremely open this season.

"It's so open that the 14th team has 10 points. Everyone is so tight together.

"I don't think it has that kind of impact, we will see the big fixtures coming for Arsenal, they have only played us and they will play other big teams.

"So I would suppose the fixture list at the moment is in favour of Man United because they have played all of the big teams so far.

"That will give them a chance to bounce back for sure."
