Harry Kane: Celebrates goal with Holtby

Spurs took an early lead inside five minutes at Toyota Park on Saturday night when a glaring defensive error in the box allowed Harry Kane to tap in past Sean Johnson.

Aaron Lennon doubled the lead in the 85th minute after seeing off Johnson and firing home unchallenged.

Chicago did manage to work their way back into the game after the Kane goal and test Spurs keeper Brad Friedel, Matt Watson forcing a good save.

The Fire failed to convert the few chances they created in the second half however, and Roberto Soldado set up Lennon to secure the win for Tottenham.

This victory completed an unbeaten tour after a trio of testing friendlies, with MLS sides Seattle and Toronto the other opponents.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino congratulated his players on their performance in the match and on the tour.

"I'm very pleased for the players because we’ve finished with a good win, a clean sheet and that’s a boost for the confidence," he said.

"It was difficult in the humidity but well done to the players, it was a good game out there. I’m happy for all of them. I thought we played well.

"We’ve worked hard on this tour and congratulations to the players, staff and the supporters, they’ve been fantastic."

Spurs begin their 2014/15 campaign on August 16, away to London rivals West Ham United.

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
