Henning Berg: Predicting a tough challenge at Blackburn

Former Rovers defender Berg returned to Ewood Park last week as successor to Steve Kean and has so far overseen a defeat at Crystal Palace and Tuesday night's 2-2 draw at Huddersfield.

Previously the 43-year-old took charge of Lyn Oslo and Lillestrom in his native Norway and he explained the resources at his disposal to achive promotion from the npower Championship at the first attempt with Rovers stand as a welcome change.

"I've been with two clubs in Norway - two different clubs. The first one (Lyn) was a smaller club in the top Norweigen league which had a lot of young players looking to develop. It was more like a development club. I stayed there for four years before. That club was more like a selling club, selling players to Serie A and other big leagues.

"Then I went to Lillestrom which is more of an older club, one of the bigger clubs, but at that time was really struggling with money. So it was a big job in terms of turning everything round with big financial problems. This was when the financial crisis set in and they had been going for the championship, not been able to do it and nearly got relegated.

"Those two clubs I've had were not in the position to win leagues and I had to sell players to survive. To find and develop and sell players has been one of the good things that I've done. This is a little bit different. The main thing is to get results, the main thing is to achieve promotion."
