Matt Lowton: Seeking a return to Wembley after heartbreak with Sheffield United

Lowton was part of the Sheffield United side beaten by Huddersfield, with the 23-year-old missing a spot-kick in the Blades' 8-7 defeat on penalties.

That proved to be his last game for United before joining Villa but he is keen to return to Wembley, although first his side must defeat Norwich at Carrow Road in Tuesday night's quarter-final tie if they are to advance in the competition.

"I had a bad experience there last year. I loved the day but the outcome was a massive disappointment," said Lowton.

"We worked hard all year to get there but fell at the last hurdle.Going to Wembley is a boyhood dream but losing there was the worst thing that has happened in my career up until now.

"We were all on the floor afterwards. We were second in the table for so long, but got overtaken by the other side of the city (Sheffield Wednesday) which made it even worse.

"I remember Chris Morgan, a seasoned pro who I had watched in the Premier

League, saying 'you've had a fantastic season, it's one penalty, try not to let it affect you too much.'

"Now it would be fantastic to go back down there to Wembley in a cup final."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
