Villa's 3-1 success away to Stoke City last Saturday was a third win in four games, but they still have a fight on their hands as they are only two points outside the bottom three.
Lowton scored Villa's second against Stoke with a wonder goal from 30 yards and he says that the squad is in a buoyant mood.
"The confidence is sky high at the minute. The manager is buzzing in the changing rooms after games," said the 23-year old.
"We've got huge momentum now. We've dragged people in. We've overtaken a few who are yet to play so the pressure is back on them.
"We passed a big test there," he said of the victory over Stoke.
"We have taken a lot of criticism over the course of the season in terms of defending set pieces and things like that.
"The best team at that is Stoke, with their physicality and the way they put throw-ins and corners into the box, but I thought we were fantastic the way we dealt with it."
