Charles N'Zogbia: Is unconcerned that Villa's survival bid may send Wiga

The 26-year-old spent two-and-a-half seasons at the DW Stadium and became familiar with the relegation tussle at the foot of the Premier League.

The former Newcastle man again finds himself at the wrong end of the table, this time with current club Aston Villa, who sit just three points above the drop zone following Saturday's draw with Fulham.

The Latics are three points further back in the final relegation position, albeit with two games in hand on all the sides around them.

A quirk of the fixture list will reunite N'Zogbia with his former employers at the DW Stadium on the final day of the season in what could potentially be a relegation decider.

Despite the prospect of relegating his old club, N'Zogbia insists he is focused purely on Villa's fight for survival and refuses to let sentiment get in the way.

"I don't think I'd feel awkward if I had to go back to Wigan and maybe send them down," he said. "I play for Villa now, I hope we can stay up and we'll do all we can to do that.

"No matter who I play against, I just want to be happy at the end of the season. It's always better to be safe before the last game, we have five games left.

"You have to block out everything else and focus on yourself. At the end of the league we'll see the points and we'll know what's going to happen."

ood lord that's got me unnecessarily excited. Damn you Storey. Cut to Liverpool being crushed under the wheels of Sparky's Stoke Machine and Firmino brought off the bench to no effect. It's the hope that kills you.

think he'll do quite well. My only reservation would be Kagawa, who had similar stats to Firmino in the bundesliga before he came, but time will tell.
