Hatem Ben Arfa: In good company on FIFA shortlist

The Newcastle winger is shortlisted for the Puskas Award for his solo effort in January's FA Cup tie with Blackburn.

Lionel Messi is also among the 10 nominees for one of his hat-trick goals in Argentina's 4-3 victory over Brazil in June.

Santos' Brazil international Neymar and Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao are others shortlisted along with Mexico women's international Olivia Jimenez.

The 10 contenders will be reduced to three on 29 November after a vote on the FIFA website, and the award will be handed out at the Ballon d'Or gala on 7 January, 2013.
