Fabricio Coloccini: No official request

Reports in the North East have claimed that the 30-year-old Argentine was looking to leave the club this month.

His father, who works at one of his former clubs San Lorenzo, also told Argentine TV earlier this month that his son was indeed looking to return to South America.

However, Sky Sports sources understand that Newcastle have not received a formal request from their skipper - although we believe he may want to leave.

Coloccini only signed a new long-term deal in March last year.
