Newcastle full-back returns

Newcastle United defender Davide Santon has been recalled to the Italy squad for Wednesday's friendly against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

Santon has seven caps to his name, but his last came nearly two-years ago.

His form for Newcastle this season has seen him earn his recall - having earlier this term being left out of the Under-21 party.

Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is also back in after a great season - he could now feature for the national side for the first time since the World Cup in 2010.

AC Milan's new signing Mario Balotelli has been included following his move back to his homeland.

Leonardo Bonucci is dropped for breaking the code of ethics set down in Italian football, as he is sitting out a two-match Serie A ban for insulting a referee.

Squad in full: Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Napoli), Marchetti (Lazio), Sirigu (Paris St. Germain), Abate (Milan), Astori (Cagliari), Barzagli (Juventus), Gastaldello (Sampdoria), Peluso (Juventus), Ranocchia (Inter), Santon (Newcastle), Candreva (Lazio), De Rossi (Roma), Diamanti (Bologna), Florenzi (Roma), Giaccherini (Juventus), Montolivo (Milan), Nocerino (Milan), Pirlo (Juventus), Verratti (Pars St. Germain), Balotelli (Milan), El Shaarawy (Milan), Gilardino (Bologna), Giovinco (Juventus), Osvaldo (Roma)
