Adam Campbell: Made his Premier League debut at the weekend

The 18-year-old North Shields-born front-man came off the bench to feature in Newcastle's 2-1 win over Stoke.

Campbell is now looking to repay the faith shown in him by manager Alan Pardew.

"It's nice to know the manager is going to give you a chance," Campbell told the Shields Gazette.

"If he thinks you are good enough, he will.

"It makes you want to work harder so that he can't not play you.

"It gives everybody a lift. Not just me, everybody in the Academy and reserves knows if they work hard enough then the manager will give you your chance and you will get in there.

"I'm just looking to get on the bench and if I can get on a few times, it would give me the perfect platform to work from next season. It isn't about me getting a game, we have good players here already. I'll just keep working."

Would be great to see this guy have a bit of a run in the Premiership. Hopefully we manage to hold onto him!
