Hatem Ben Arfa: Scores Newcastle's first

Ben Arfa scored one and had a hand in Newcastle's second, and Pardew thinks it is great news for Newcastle and France.

Pardew said: "His performance today was unplayable. He was on fire. He has the ability to hold onto the ball and explode past two or three players. This is what the supporters pay to watch.

"His concentration today was spot on and if he gets that consistency he'll be a real threat for us and France."

Overall, it has been a good start to the season for Pardew's side and he says he was never worried despite the opening game defeat by Manchester City.

Pardew added: "Since Man City when everyone over-reacted we've been sound and we look a strong side again.

"I thought we carried a big threat today and if we keep players fit we'll be a handful."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
