Loic Remy: Wanted on a permanent basis by Newcastle after impressing on loan

The France international was among those allowed to leave Loftus Road over the summer on the back of relegation out of the Premier League.

A season-long loan agreement was struck with Newcastle, allowing Remy to step back up into the top flight.

He has impressed during his short time on Tyneside, and the Magpies are keen to acquire his services on a permanent basis.

Alan Pardew recently revealed that a deal was now in place, but conceded that the situation was 'complicated'.

Redknapp says he has not been informed of any developments on the transfer front, but has already admitted this season that Remy is no longer in his plans and is free to move on.

In quotes published by the Evening Chronicle, Redknapp said: "I don't know what the deal is. I don't know what the chairman Tony Fernandes or (chief executive) Philip Beard have agreed.

"I don't know whether there's a fee agreed or not.

"He's certainly playing well for them. I said last season that he's a 10 to 15-goal a season man."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
