Mario Gomez: Happy to see out his contract at Bayern Munich

The 27-year-old Germany international has a deal which runs until June 2016 and the player has indicated that he would be happy to remain in Bavaria.

However, with Pep Guardiola set to take over the reins from Jupp Heynckes at the Allianz Arena in the summer, the club are targeting Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski as a potential summer recruit, according to reports.

Should the deal happen, then Gomez - who has scored just three goals this term - is likely to be pushed out to facilitate Lewandowski's arrival.

But Ferber told Sport-BILD weekly: "Mario (Gomez) will be a player of Bayern Munich next season. Mario is enjoying his time at the club and does not fear any other striker in terms of competition for a first-team spot. Mario is with a very, very good club and he is out to win silverware with them."

Gomez has been linked with a number of European clubs, including Manchester City.
