While many of his team-mates must have wanted the season to end, Rodwell netted a brace in the final-day defeat to Norwich and received a call-up to Roy Hodgson's England squad.

With Roberto Mancini having been sacked following a trophyless season, the man who joined for £12million from Everton last summer will be anxious to catch the new manager's eye.

"It's all about the future now," said Rodwell. "Obviously a new manager will come in and everyone is intrigued to see who that is going to be. It's a fresh start for everyone and we will all be on it.

"First game of next season everyone will be flying, and we will do our best to prove ourselves to the manager."

Rodwell spent four months out with a hamstring injury, hampering his ability to settle in at City and the youngster admits it has been tough.

He added: "I am a great believer in my ability but I've not had the chance to prove it. I am back for one game after 10 games out and it's always hard.

"You are never match-fit and it's hard to produce. You need a good run of games.

"It's just getting games under my belt, getting match fitness and hopefully next season I can do it a bit more.

"I have ended on a good note personally, now I can put my mind to rest and have a fresh start.

"The season has just started for me. I have been back playing for the last few weeks and I just want more."

Rodwell will be involved in City's post-season tour of the United States before linking up with England for the friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil.

I

expect Pulis to have a nice Christmas dinner with his family- probably all sitting around the table wearing Christmas themed baseball caps, before he gets the call. Realistically he could end up at any number of clubs, it'll be interesting to see which club folds first.

For Foxes' Sake, Call The Pulis...

A

s a Liverpool fan, I personally hate Palace. My pick would probably be Arsenal, which is funny because it seems the vast majority of their own fans don't even like them right now.
