The Slovakian midfield prospect, 19, was due to stay at Boundary Park until January 5.

Rusnak made just one appearance off the bench in the league, and made one start in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

A statement on the Oldham website said: "All parties felt it was better for the 19-year-old Rusnak to pursue the opportunities available to him with City's Elite Development Squad.

"Manager Lee Johnson says he is disappointed the loan, which was due to expire on January 5th, didn't work out."
