Man City hoping to bounce back in Russia after their Bayern mauling

Manuel Pellegrini's men will head to Russia for the Group D contest after the

international break, with the game set for Wednesday October 23.

Reports had suggested that problems with the pitch at the 19,000-capacity Khimki Arena may force a move to St Petersburg, but it would seem the issues have been addressed.

CSKA's match with Viktoria Plzen was switched last week, but in a statement issued on Thursday, City revealed they had been informed by UEFA that the venue would remain the same.

The Blues will be desperate to impress in Russia after their miserable 3-1 defeat by European champions Bayern Munich in their last match in Europe's elite competition.
