Edin Dzeko: Confident he can fill the void left by Sergio Aguero's injury

Aguero is facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury during last weekend's win over Arsenal.

Aguero is City's top scorer with 19 goals so far this term and although Dzeko admits the Argentine will be missed during his time on his sidelines he believes Manuel Pellegrini's men have enough quality in their squad to cope in his absence.

"Sergio has had an amazing season, scoring a lot of goals, and he is an important player for us," Dzeko told the Daily Mirror. "That's life, and now we have to try to play games without him, and try to win.

"This is very bad for the team, but there are a lot of players who want to play."

Dzeko stepped up to the mark in Aguero's absence with two goals in Tuesday's Capital One Cup win over Leicester City and he is determined to maintain his form in front of goal.

"I am happy to score two [against Leicester] - that's my job," added Dzeko. "I hope it means I am back among the goals. When I'm playing, I'm trying always to score goals.

"I am a striker that has scored goals all my life, and I love to do it. When I get a chance I try to do my best.

"We have a superb squad and recently have scored a lot of goals."

put Ince in my fantasy football team, so it's no surprise at all really. I do that to players. Also responsible for De Jong and Upson being injured. Think I'll transfer in Di Maria just to ruin United....
