Work is already under way on a 6,000-seat expansion to the South Stand, and the latest initiative will see three rows of seats added at pitchside level.

Both projects are due for completion in time for the start of the 2015/16 season.

Tom Glick, City's chief commercial officer, said on the club's website: "We have always been committed to bringing fans closer to Manchester City, to the players and to the pitch.

"Whether that's through digital innovation, community work, international tours, or as in this case, physically allowing fans to be right next to the action, it is our top priority. We are already looking forward to seeing the expanded stadium in action for the 15/16 season."

City also have planning permission for a third expansion which would add 6,000 further seats if undertaken.

@zabbaman.....And..... still no proof, because it's made up boll*cks. Come on, tell us how many empty seats YOU think there were for the United v Liverpool game??? I'll even make it easy for you, was it A) less than 100 B) 3000 or C) 6000?? Oh and theres a catch......you then have to provide a link to a photo backing your answer up......which should be real easy given the 60000 plus people that were there and had cameras!!!!! Be warned though, failure to answer correctly or back your answer up WILL result in you looking like a self deluded idiot....though to be fair, you won't look any more stupid than you do already. So come on....Lets see if youve got a backbone or whether it's all made up garbage. It's on you Bertie, chop chop??

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
