Josh McEachran: Hoping to establish himself at Stamford Bridge

The 19-year-old was loaned out to Swansea City last season and is spending this campaign at Middlesbrough in the Championship, but has not given up hope that he can become a first team regular at his parent club.

John Terry was the last academy product to establish himself at Chelsea, and McEachran is well aware of the task that faces him if he is to reach his ambition.

"Chelsea managers are under a lot of pressure so they'll go with experienced players," McEachran told the Times.

"But you've got to be patient and hopefully my time will come.

"All the English lads have been really good to me, especially Ashley Cole, who has stayed in touch and sends me messages.

"There's an English corner in the dressing room and when I got into the first team they welcomed me straight in, gave me a locker and put their arms around me."

McEachran has impressed at Middlesbrough so far this season, making 24 appearances in the Championship.
