Sammy Ameobi: Happy with loan spell

The 20-year-old, younger brother of Shola, is on loan at Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I've already taken a lot from the games I've played, and I'm stronger physically.

"Hopefully, I can bring that back to Newcastle. Middlesbrough are trying to get in the play-offs, and I'm trying my best to help the club do that."

He admits that he is enjoying his spell in the Championship, but it is far from easy.

"It's not easy. The ball turns over a lot more. There's a lot more running," he said.

"You have to be strong, but I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's going well. I'm glad to be getting some games under my belt.

"I'm feeling part of the team. Hopefully, I'll continue getting games and impress the manager. Games are what I need for my confidence and development as a player.

"I'm playing week-in, week- out, and keeping my fitness levels on."

Ameobi is hopeful of helping Boro to the play-offs, despite their loss of form in recent weeks.

"Hopefully, we'll get that play-off spot. And Newcastle are doing great right now, especially in Europe."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
