Tony Mowbray: Has watched Middlesbrough's challenge fade

Mowbray has found himself in the firing line in recent weeks after Boro's hopes of securing a return to the Premier League at the fourth attempt wilted and died.

Mowbray told the Northern Echo: "I watch Sky Sports News 24/7, so it doesn't matter to me what's said about you. You need a thick skin, that's what you need.

"If you are going to fail in management, then fail in your own way. If you're going to be successful, you do it the way you want to do it.

"Everybody has got an opinion - you have got one, the next guy too.

"If you get swayed too much by other people's opinions, you will have regrets, so I think - do football management your way and build the team you can."

Not sure if he is any good as a manager (never thought about it) but the 'headbutt in the technical area' and what he said to Pelligrini were just brilliant, it was as if he was trying to recreate the end of the Alan Partridge Xmas special when Alan punched a man in a wheelchair and verbally abused Tony Heirs.
