Bordeaux: French Cup winners will face Middlesbrough in pre-season

Francois Gillot will bring his squad to the Riverside Stadium on July 27 after a season in which they finished a disappointing seventh in the league but ended on a high.

Two Cheick Diabate goals, including an 88th-minute winner, helped them beat Evian 3-2 to win the French Cup for the fourth time.

Boro's other pre-season friendlies are away from home, starting with a first visit to Morecambe's Globe Arena on July 17.

They visit Rotherham's New York Stadium, also a first, on July 23 three days after making the short trip to Hartlepool, where club favourite Colin Cooper recently took charge.
