Etienne Capoue: Attracted plenty of interest during winter window

With clubs across Europe frantically searching for new recruits during the winter window, players in just about every division fell under the microscope.

Capoue is among those to have drawn admiring glances, with the France international considered by a number of Premier League sides.

Ligue 1 has been a happy hunting ground for Premier League bosses in recent times, but Toulouse were reluctant to part with their prized asset.

Capoue's representative claims a move could still happen later in the year, but concedes that a hefty price tag may force a player who is under contract until 2015 to be patient.

"At lot of English clubs wanted to hire him, most notably Arsenal, Tottenham and Fulham," Mino Raiola told L'Equipe.

"Paris St Germain wanted him too, but that may be for the summer. We will see what happens in the future.

"I know Toulouse chairman Olivier Sadran was not keen to sell during the winter window.

"The fee demanded was a barrier on each occasion, but we held some polite talks."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
