Israel Under-21: Squad announced for U21 Euros

The highly-rated 19-year-old is seen as one for the future at Craven Cottage, but fans will get the chance to see him in European action in the UEFA tournament in his homeland next month.

Coach Guy Luzon has left out Racing Santander midfielder Gai Assulin, who was released by Manchester City last summer and previously had a loan spell at Brighton. FC Ashdod's Nir Biton, who had a trial with City during pre-season last summer, skippers the side.

Israel's final Group A fixture on June 11 is against Stuart Pearce's England U21 side in Jerusalem. Before that, they host Norway in the tournament opener and then Italy.

Israel Under-21 squad:

Goalkeepers: Boris Klaiman (Hapoel Tel-Aviv), Arik Yanko (Hakoah Ramat Gan), Barak Levi (Maccabi Tel-Aviv).

Defenders: Ofir Davidzade (Hapoel Be'er Sheva), Ben Vahaba (Hapoel Be'er Sheva), Ahad Azam (Hapoel Haifa), Edi Gotlieb (Hapoel Acre), Omri Ben Harush (Maccabi Netanya), Ido Levi (Maccabi Netanya), Taleb Twatha (Maccabi Haifa), Eliazer Dasa (Beitar Jerusalem), Ofer Verta (FC Ashdod).

Midfielders: Ofir Krieff (Beitar Jerusalem), Nir Biton (FC Ashdod), Marouan Kabah (Maccabi Petach-Tikva), Eyal Golasa (Maccabi Haifa), Omri Altman (Fulham), Sintayehu Sallalich (Hapoel Kiryat Shmona), Israel Zaguri (Hapoel Ramat Gan).

Forwards: Orr Barouch (Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv), Mohammed Kalibat (Bnei Sakhnin), Alon Turgeman (Maccabi Haifa), Moanes Dabour (Maccabi Tel-Aviv).

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
