Derek Boateng: Thinking about his future

The 30-year-old joined the Cottagers in the summer on a free transfer, but he has been limited to just two league starts.

Now he has his eyes on the World Cup finals next summer, where he hopes to be participating with Ghana.

"It is every players dream to play in the World Cup and I want to go to Brazil to help my national team, (but) I cannot go to Brazil while I continue to warm the bench at Fulham," he told Football411.

"I was signed by Martin (Jol) and he is no more with us, so I have started speaking to Fulham and hopefully they will understand me and allow me to go on loan.

"Scott (Parker) and the other players are doing well, and I don't think I can be guaranteed a permanent place with the starting line-up.

"I know this request won't cause any problem for both parties."
