Angelo Henriquez: Out to impress

Angelo Henriquez: Out to impress

The 18-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Universidad de Chile in the summer before joining Roberto Martinez's side for the rest of the season.

And after making his debut in the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday, the Chile international is keen to follow in the footsteps of Cleverley, who made 25 appearances for Wigan two seasons ago.

He said: "I'm looking forward to my time here and hopefully I can be good for the team like Tom Cleverley was when he came here on loan.

"My job is to score goals for the team and hopefully I can give Wigan fans some good memories while I'm here.

"I'm hoping to get first-team appearances in the Premier League and coming to Wigan will be a very good way to do that, particularly with the style that the gaffer has got the team playing."

Henriquez will be linking up with fellow Chilean Jean Beausejour at the DW Stadium, something he believes will help him adapt quickly to the Premier League.

He added: "It's great to team up with Jean because he is from Chile like me and him being here will help me to settle in, as will all of the players in the squad, Spanish speaking or not."
